  • The Minnesota Supreme Court upheld a lower court's ruling which requires tobacco companies to turn over lists of ingredients. Read the Associated Press coverage.
  • November 27:

  • A federal judge in Boston has stayed the tobacco industry's preemptive suit against Massachusetts pending the resolution of the state's case against the industry in state court. Read the UPI report (the order will be available next week).

  • Wisconsin announced its intention to bring a legal action against the tobacco industry after Attorney General James E. Doyle conferred with Governor Thompson on Monday, November 25th.

  • November 15:

  • Texas order compelling tobacco industry disclosure of vast database records as part of the discovery process. Read Judge Folsom's order and the confidentiality agreement related to the disclosure.
  • States News Service reported that Iowa will join 17 other states by filing a lawsuit against the tobacco industry. Attorney General Tom Miller says he's been given the okay by Governor Terry Branstad to file the suit and that it will be a ''major priority.'' STIC will bring you documents and coverage of this and every other states' legal action against the tobacco industry.
  • November 14: Illinois files its lawsuit against the tobacco industry. Read Attorney General Jim Ryan's press release and check out the complaint itself.
